Geico is a good choice if you qualify for discounts and need a dependable company. Geico also has an AM Best rating of A++, which shows they’re in good financial standing and can pay out claims.
However, Geico offers average rates for most drivers and has an average customer satisfaction score.
Geico’s customer satisfaction ratings from J.D. Power’s 2023 auto insurance study were average to subpar in most parts of the country. Geico car insurance coverage
Geico has all the standard car insurance coverage options you might expect from a car insurance company. However, Geico doesn’t offer as many optional coverages as their competitors. Geico offers these optional coverages:
- Emergency Road Service: Comes to your aid during roadside emergencies.
- Rental Reimbursement: Helps pay for a rental car if your car is being repaired due to a covered claim.
- Mechanical Breakdown Insurance: Helps pay for unexpected car repairs.
Methodology
LendingTree obtains rates from insurance company filings reported to Quadrant Information Services. Rates are based on an analysis of car insurance quotes for sample drivers.
Unless stated otherwise, we used thousands of car insurance quotes from across the U.S. for a 30-year-old man with good credit and no tickets, accidents or DUI convictions, driving a 2015 Honda Civic EX.
For full-coverage policies, coverage limits include:
- Bodily injury liability: $50,000 per person, $100,000 per accident
- Property damage liability: $25,000
- Uninsured motorist: $50,000 per person, $100,000 per accident, where required by law
- Personal injury protection: Minimum limits, where required by law
- Collision: $500 deductible
- Comprehensive: $500 deductible
LendingTree rated insurance companies based on an assessment of each of their average rates, NAIC Complaint Index scores, discounts, coverages, financial strength ratings, along with their app and website experience. These categories were then weighted based on importance:
