If your credit isn’t quite good enough to qualify for Capital One’s flagship Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card, the Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards for Good Credit is a great alternative.
Although it’s slightly stripped down from its ‘excellent credit’ counterpart, it lets you earn the same cash back rate. You’ll get 1.5% Cash Back on every purchase, every day; 5% Cash Back on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel (terms apply).
Just know, unlike the “excellent credit” version of the card, this one doesn’t offer a sign-up bonus or an intro APR on purchases or balance transfers.

The Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards for Good Credit gets you 1.5% cash back on every purchase, every day; 5% cash back on hotels and rental cars booked through capital one travel (terms apply). While this is a good cash back rate to earn on general purchases, there are flat-rate cash back cards available that offer as much as 2% back on every purchase.
May accept applicants with less-than-perfect credit
You may be able to qualify for this card with good credit. Capital One describes “good credit” as including those who haven’t declared bankruptcy on a loan in the last five years and haven’t been more than 30 days late on any payment in the past year.
According to FICO, a “good credit” score ranges from 670 to 739.
There's no annual fee
This card charges a $0 annual fee. This means all the rewards you earn on this card are net cash back — unless you incur other fees or interest charges.
No foreign transaction fees
While some credit cards charge foreign transaction fees of 3% each time you make a purchase outside of the U.S., the Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards for Good Credit does not. So it’s an ideal choice to take along if you’re planning a trip abroad.
High APR
The Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards for Good Credit has a 29.99% (variable) APR, which is one of the highest we’ve come across. To avoid paying this expensive interest rate, it’s best to pay your balance in full every month.
No sign-up bonus
Although this card comes with a solid cash back rate on every purchase, it doesn’t offer a sign-up bonus. By contrast, the Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card lets you earn a earn a one-time $200 cash bonus after you spend $500 on purchases within 3 months from account opening.

The Wells Fargo Active Cash® Card also lets you carry a balance from month to month without incurring interest charges for more than a year. You’ll get a 0% intro APR for 12 months from account opening on purchases, and a 19.49%, 24.49%, or 29.49% Variable APR thereafter. There’s also an intro APR on balance transfers available for the same length of time.
Just know, this card charges foreign transaction fees. So it’s not an ideal card to take along on a trip overseas.

Discover will automatically match all the cash back you’ve earned at the end of your first year! There’s no minimum spending or maximum rewards. You could turn $150 cash back into $300.
Similar to the Wells Fargo Active Cash® Card, this card offers an intro APR on purchases and balance transfers for more than a year. After that, a very reasonable 18.74% - 27.74% Variable APR applies. There’s also a $0 annual fee, and as for foreign transaction fees — there are none.
But while this card provides a longer intro APR on balance transfers than the Wells Fargo Active Cash® Card and the Discover it® Cash Back, it doesn’t offer an interest-free period on purchases. Also, you’ll be subject to foreign transaction fees if you use the card to make purchases outside of the U.S.
The Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards for Good Credit lets you earn a competitive cash back rate as you work toward an even better credit score through responsible usage.
But if your credit isn’t quite good enough to qualify for that card, you may want to consider the lower-tiered Capital One QuicksilverOne Cash Rewards Credit Card. Just know that while the card offers the same cash back rate as the Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards for Good Credit, it also charges a $39 annual fee.
