Wyndham Rewards are the loyalty currency of the Wyndham Hotel Group, a collection of many different hotel brands. Although you can earn points with Wyndham Rewards credit cards, the most common way to earn Wyndham Rewards points is by staying at one of Wyndham’s hotel brands. You’ll generally get the best value if you redeem points for Wyndham hotel stays, although you can also redeem your points with Wyndham partners like Vacasa.
Wyndham Rewards points are worth around 0.96 cents per point, though the exact amount will depend on how, when and where you redeem your points. Here’s a brief look at some of the ways you might be able to redeem your points.

Are Wyndham Rewards points worth it?
One way to value Wyndham Rewards points is to compare the value of the points to the value of your redemption. If you’re deciding between using your points and paying in cash, it’s normally worth it if you are getting a value of around one cent per point. Earning and using these points is generally a good deal with few negatives.
There are several different ways to earn Wyndham Rewards points, so no matter how you want to earn points, you are likely to find an option that makes sense to you. Here are a few of the top ways to earn Wyndham points:
One of the easiest ways to earn Wyndham Rewards points is to have a qualified stay at a Wyndham Rewards hotel, a participating Caesars Rewards casino or a Wyndham Vacation Club resort. Qualified stays typically have to be paid stays booked directly through a Wyndham hotel, not a third-party website. In general, you only earn Wyndham Rewards points based on the room rate, not taxes or fees.
Like many other large hotel chains, Wyndham has a way for meeting planners and organizers to earn additional points. You can earn one point per dollar spent on event spaces, guest room blocks and food and beverage charges when you plan a qualifying meeting at a Wyndham hotel.
Hotel credit cards can be very useful if you stay at a brand often. There are several Wyndham cards that allow you to earn Wyndham Rewards points. You’ll earn points with every purchase, and sometimes have the ability to earn bonus points.
Wyndham Rewards also allows you to buy points. You can purchase them for yourself or gift them to another Wyndham member. A maximum of 100,000 Wyndham Rewards points can be purchased and received in a calendar year.
Wyndham does regularly offer promotions where you can get a discount or earn bonus points when you purchase points, but even with these promotions, buying Wyndham points is not the best way to earn Wyndham Rewards points.
Wyndham also has a variety of partners that allow you to earn Wyndham points. You can earn Wyndham Rewards points by shopping through the Wyndham online shopping portal, taking opinion surveys and taking advantage of tour, activity or rental car partnerships.
The Wyndham Rewards program is free to join, and you don’t need to pay extra fees to upgrade to elite status. You level up with qualifying stays at Wyndham hotels and resorts. When you join, you will start with Wyndham Blue elite status. You can get Wyndham Gold status after only five nights, Platinum after 15 nights and top-tier Wyndham Diamond elite status after 40 nights.
As a Wyndham Elite member, you will have access to a variety of perks that can make your stays more enjoyable:

The most common way to redeem these hotel points is by using them to book a stay with a Wyndham brand. Wyndham has two main ways that you can use points for stays at Wyndham hotels and Wyndham Vacation Club — Wyndham Go Free and Wyndham Go Fast:
With Wyndham Go Free, you pay a specific number of points for a completely free night. There are three different tiers of hotels, each with a different amount of points needed per night.
Location redemption tier | Points needed |
---|---|
Tier 1 | 7,500 |
Tier 2 | 15,000 |
Tier 3 | 30,000 |
With Wyndham Go Fast, you’ll pay a smaller number of points as well as a cash copay that varies by hotel. Unlike Wyndham Go Free redemptions, you will also earn points on the cash portion of your redemption.
Location redemption tier | Amount needed |
---|---|
Tier 1 | 1,500 + cash |
Tier 2 | 3,000 + cash |
Tier 3 | 6,000 + cash |
There are a few other ways to redeem Wyndham points, and some of them can be quite lucrative:
Currently, Wyndham Hotels operates 24 different hotel brands:
The Wyndham hotel brand is a part of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Inc., which is one of the world’s largest hotel companies. Besides Wyndham hotels, the Wyndham parent company also operates several other hotel brands, including Ramada, La Quinta and Days Inn.
No, Wyndham is not a part of Marriott. Wyndham and Marriott are both separate hotel companies with hotel brands. Like Wyndham, Marriott has a rewards program.
The number of Wyndham points required for a free night varies depending on how you use your Wyndham Rewards points. Free nights at the lowest level of Wyndham hotels (Tier 1) cost as little as 7,500 Wyndham Rewards points for a free night.
The easiest way to join Wyndham Rewards is online at wyndhamhotels.com. You can also join Wyndham Rewards by visiting the website of a participating hotel brand or in person at the front desk of a hotel operated by Wyndham.
There is no cost to join Wyndham Rewards, and you won’t need to pay fees to earn or redeem Wyndham Rewards points.
Yes, you can transfer Wyndham Rewards points to a variety of airline and other partner programs. The transfer ratio varies depending on the redemption option, so you’ll want to make sure to check the Wyndham website for the most up-to-date information.
