You can earn Chase Ultimate Rewards® from everyday shopping, dining, travel and more. Once you’ve racked up a decent amount of points, you can get cash back, book travel via Chase’s travel portal or transfer them to one of Chase’s 14 travel partners.

Transferring points to a travel partner can typically earn you the highest redemption rate — around 2 cents per point. You just need one of three Chase cards to initiate the transfer. From there, the sky’s the limit.

While you can earn and combine Chase Ultimate Rewards with various Chase credit cards, only the following three cards allow you to transfer points to travel partners.

You can currently transfer Ultimate Rewards points to 11 leading airline loyalty programs at a 1:1 ratio. This includes two major U.S. airlines: United and Southwest. While the value of your points will vary based on the travel partner, we estimate you can get an average of 2 cents per point when transferring Ultimate Rewards to a Chase airline partner.

  • Aer Lingus AerClub
  • British Airways Executive Club
  • Emirates Skywards
  • Air France KLM Flying Blue
  • Iberia Plus
  • JetBlue TrueBlue
  • Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
  • Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards
  • United MileagePlus
  • Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
  • Air Canada Aeroplan

You can transfer your Ultimate Rewards points to three hotel loyalty programs at a 1:1 ratio.

While you can often find great redemptions using travel partners for specific trips, the following Chase Ultimate Rewards partners typically score the best deals.

World of Hyatt

When you transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to the World of Hyatt, you can enjoy free nights at a wide range of hotels and resorts with no blackout dates, including participating Small Luxury Hotels around the globe. You could stay during the off-peak season for as low as 3,500 points per night for a standard room, or 7,000 points for a premium suite.

The World of Hyatt Credit Card can help you earn even more points, allowing you to combine them with your Chase Ultimate Rewards to maximize your free hotel and resort stays and upgrades.

Virgin Atlantic Flying Club

When you transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to the Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, you can access a variety of SkyTeam alliance partners. Some partner airlines include AirEuropa, China Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, Air New Zealand, Virgin Australia and more.

Redemption rates vary based on the travel partner, seat type and season, with some great redemption offers available. For example, you can fly round-trip from the Western USA to Tokyo for only 60,000 for economy, 90,000 for business class or 145,000 miles for first class.

Air Canada Aeroplan

As a Star Alliance member, Air Canada lets you use Aeroplan points to book award travel on a range of partner airlines, including United, Lufthansa, Emirates, Flydubai and more. You can use Aeroplan’s flight reward chart to see how much your points could get you depending on your origin and the distance you need to travel.

Air Canada, on the other hand, uses what’s called “dynamic pricing” for award flights. This means the value for award travel can fluctuate based on demand, such as rates increasing during peak holidays. That said, you can often score discounted short-haul tickets between the U.S. and Canada. For example, you can fly from New York to Toronto for as low as 6,000 miles one-way.

Learn more about redeeming credit card points.

  1. Log in to your Chase account.
  2. Select your eligible Chase Ultimate Rewards credit card.
  3. Click on “Redeem.”
  4. In the banner at the top, click on “Travel” and then “Transfer points to partners.”
  5. Choose your transfer airline or hotel partner.
  6. Click on the blue button near the bottom that says “Transfer Points.”
  7. If this is your first transfer with that partner, enter your airline or hotel loyalty member number.
  8. Enter how many points you want to transfer.
  9. Review transfer details.
  10. Click “Submit.”

When doing a Chase points transfer to a partner loyalty program, the name on your credit card must exactly match the name on your loyalty account. You can only transfer miles in increments of 1,000, with a minimum transfer of 1,000 points.

For example, if you need 21,350 points to book an award flight on United, you’ll need to round-up to 22,000 when making the transfer.

Make sure to double-check your info before initiating the transfer. Once you click submit, there’s no turning back — even if you’ve made a mistake.

While most reward transfers post instantaneously or by the next day, Chase states that transfers to travel partners can take up to seven business days.

What are Chase Ultimate Rewards points worth?

While you have several options for redeeming Chase points, you can typically get the highest value by transferring to a Chase travel partner. On average, we estimate you could get around 2 cents per point when transferring to Chase travel partners. Your exact redemption rate will depend on the partner airline or hotel, your origin and destination, plus whether you’re booking during peak season. Here’s a breakdown of what you might earn for 1,000 Ultimate Rewards points:

  • Pay with points on Amazon.com and PayPal: $8
  • Cash back: $10
  • Gift cards: $10
  • Travel booked via the Chase Travel portal: $15
  • Transfer to loyalty program: $20

If you want to earn even more points for your next flight, Chase offers a range of credit cards that are part of the Ultimate Rewards program. Since you can pool all your Chase Ultimate Rewards points together before transferring to travel partners, it makes sense to have more than one card in your wallet.

Often, it only takes minutes for your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to successfully transfer to a partner airline. However, the fine print on Chase’s transfer page states that transfers to travel partners can take up to seven business days. That said, many travelers report receiving their points within a day or two.

Yes, you can transfer your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to three travel partners that are part of the Star Alliance program: Air Canada Aeroplan, Singapore Krisflyer and United MileagePlus. From there, you can book award travel through a network of partner airlines. However, redemption values will vary based on the partner airline.

Chase allows you to transfer Ultimate Rewards points to a household member’s loyalty program if the recipient is listed as an authorized user on your eligible Chase credit card.

If the recipient isn’t listed as an authorized user but shares the same address, you can transfer points to and from each other’s Ultimate Rewards accounts. You must call Chase the first time you do an internal transfer, but after that, you can initiate the transfer from your online account. Note that the recipient must also have an eligible Chase card that allows transferring Ultimate Rewards points, such as the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve® or Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card.

When transferring to a household member, you can only transfer in increments of 1,000 points — just like when transferring to travel partners.
